School Wide Arts
Welcome to the American School of Doha (ASD) Fine Arts Department. We offer a comprehensive education in the arts from Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) all the way through High School (HS) performances in our world-class theater. Whether the area of interest is Music, Visual Arts, or Drama, there is a place for every student to explore and develop the art they all have within.
Throughout the year, the campus comes alive as students of all ages perform in concerts, musicals, and stage productions. Local, regional, and international art festivals are also some of the venues where outstanding student artwork and photography is displayed.
The Fine Arts are essential to the development of the whole child and involvement in this field is a catalyst for skill development in all other disciplines.
We have highly skilled and enthusiastic teachers working in their fields who are trained in multiple mediums of the Visual Arts, Drama, Vocal and Instrumental Music and make every effort to provide the finest possible experience in the arts.
ASD is part of the Middle East South Asia Conference (MESAC) which is made up of similar international schools, and students participate yearly in Fine Arts Festivals that feature Drama, Visual Arts, Choir, and Band. Our school is a member of the Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS) and participates in international Middle School (MS) and HS Music Festivals. Our HS drama students participate in International Baccalaureate (IB) TaPS and the MS travels to London every other year for theater workshops.
ASD has excellent facilities including a 600-seat theater, a black box theater, band and choir rooms, a photography lab, practice rooms, and art and drama spaces. These facilities along with teachers boasting years of experience will make this a rewarding and unforgettable experience for each and every student who walks through our doors.
