Welcome to ASD

The American School of Doha (ASD) is a vibrant school community of exceptional education professionals recruited from around the world. Our faculty are committed to delivering an excellent American-style education in an international setting. We currently employ approximately 375 faculty, support staff, and administrators whose main aim is to achieve excellent classroom outcomes for our students.

Why Join

Our values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, and Compassion guide our actions and promote a culture of inclusiveness and engagement. Our focus on student learning in a safe and secure environment ensures that every student is encouraged to reach his or her potential each day. And our focus on community development to support student learning means that the American School of Doha (ASD) can be your lifeline here in Doha.

Location

The ASD campus is centrally located in Doha and is a state of the art facility second to none in Qatar. It provides our faculty and students with scope to excel in all areas of our educational program: in the classroom, gymnasium, swimming pool, library, and stage.

Faculty

We employ approximately 225 faculty across Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle and High Schools. All are dedicated professionals whose aim is to support the development of “the whole child” to ensure that students are equipped with 21st-century skills. Our faculty empower students to develop a strong sense of pride and ownership in their growth and accomplishments.

Program

ASD is an independent, U.S. accredited, college preparatory co-educational day school, committed to providing educational excellence, through a Standards-based internationally enriched American curriculum. Through our four educational divisions, we support student development to provide an education that focuses on the whole child/student.

Professional Learning

ASD is a future-focused community where the on-going Professional Learning (PL) of our faculty is valued, encouraged and celebrated. Our teachers are fully supported in their PL and encouraged to embrace opportunities to improve their teaching. We recognize that PL is a shared responsibility and are strategic in our support of all PL programs and initiatives.

Innovative curriculum, future-focused staff and amazing students! ASD has been an enriching place for us for twelve years and counting!

Technology Integration Specialist, High School

ASD – a vibrant learning environment with a dynamic student body who are guided by a world-class group of professionals that I consider my extended family.

Math Teacher, Middle School

The joy of working at ASD is not the amazing facilities or resources, but the knowledge that I am valued and supported by the school every day.

Kindergarten Teacher

ASD is an oasis in the desert: administration and colleagues are encouraging, teaching is energizing, and the students enjoy school

Teaching Specialist, Upper Elementary

For me ASD is about community; the school community, the teaching community and the professional learning community.

Aquatics Teacher

With motivated students, a school wide focus on learning and great facilities it’s not surprising our family is still here after ten years.

Physical Education Teacher, Lower Elementary

Our family transition to Doha has been supported by all facets of the ASD community. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with such a high caliber of staff.

Language Arts Teacher, High School

ASD did a fantastic job helping me transition and move to Doha. This is my third international school and by far the smoothest transition I have experienced!

Physical Education Teacher, Middle School

Wonderful community, dedicated professionals, and a great place to work. My family has loved our time at ASD.a

Math Teacher, High School

Teaching at ASD is stimulating. Learning about learning is an on-going process and when work is done you’ll be able to use tennis courts, a 30-meter swimming pool, and be housed in a beautiful residential compound.

Grade 2 Teacher

I was thinking about the incredible professional learning I have had this week, after the visit from Emily DeLiddo and then the Adaptive Schools training this weekend I just wanted to say a quick thank you for providing us with these opportunities. The high level of PL at this school is one of the reasons I continue to stay at ASD.
